Prediction and measurement of delay spread, fading statistics, and receiving quality in indoor wireless networks

| A new model for the prediction of the field strength, the delay spread and the fast fading for mobile communication networks inside buildings is presented in this paper. In the first part of the paper, the equipment for the measurements is described. Some measurement results are shown to illustrate the performance of the measurement equipment. Based on the measurements a new parameter for the description of the bit error rate (BER) and the quality of service (QoS) is introduced. The model for the prediction of the field strength, the delay spread and the fast fading is based on the new dominant path model, presented in [14]. This new model leads to very accurate results, even in buildings not used for the calibration of the model.
